Artist's Comments

For my Drawing 1 final last semester, we had to draw a self-portrait of ourselves while looking at ourselves during the draw. I'm proud of how this came out, despite the fact that I could've spent more time on it. It's one of the first times I've drawn myself realistically yet it doesn't look creepy like most realism.

did you use a square to shape your head?

Yes, why do you ask?

That reminds me, last night I went to the FZS Drama production and guess who I saw there?

Denton, Woody and Matt.
"I wonder where Vinny is?"
"Probably in jail."

it looks like you did and heads are generally oval shaped

Yeah, we were taught in that class to start with a blockhead foundation and work from there. Then again, not all heads are the same shape.

ur teacher was on fucking crack in that case. All artists know the head is an oval and in no way bares any resemblance to a square, chin excluded. I hate art teachers who do that. Teach a method that is not going to produce the best result...

Your picture is good however, despite the poor instructions on your teacher's part. I like the special attention you paid to the wrinkles in the shirt.

d(^_^)b *2 thumbs up*
